Hey Home,
It’s my second time doing a wrapped, wow. There’s something both comforting and cringe about documenting your life like this. Future me, when you read this, I hope you laugh at the dumb shit you did, roll your eyes at the drama, and feel proud of how far you’ve come. Despite some insane downfalls, 2024 was surprisingly kind to me.
So what exactly did I do this year?
January:
Shot a documentary called Out of the Blue.
Went for a scorching drive around Mumbai and realised global warming has fucked us up (yes, I do see the irony).
Met up with my cousins and had some of the worst food in the most aesthetic place (Gigi Bombay).
Saw The Rose live, screamed Back to Me really loudly, made friends at Lolla, and ended my situationship (it was toxic and I didn’t want to date him).
February:
Watched the budget in college and actually understood it.
Went to my first movie press show and realised why entertainment journalism in India is where it is.
Organised a college fundraiser and discovered I’m better at math and handling money during chaos than I thought.
Went to a random Karan Johar screening and cried (it was adorable).
Went on an IV to Delhi and Jaipur, becoming closer to my college bestie.
Went on a funny date with a guy on the beach.
March:
I did absolutely nothing except give my finals.
April:
Fell in love with my then-boyfriend.
Celebrated my 21st birthday.
Went on an amazing trip to Assam, Meghalaya, and West Bengal and ate insane food.
May:
Saw my cousin brother cry after a very long time.
Watched Monkey Man with my film club friend and bought a really cute magnet.
Started a job.
Went back to college and missed everything I left behind.
Made some crazy friends at work.
Tried raw fish and found I was allergic to it.
Ate some crazy truffle fries
Realised I don’t like Korean food.
June:
Went camping and saw fireflies (absolutely surreal).
Watched Inside Out 2 and found my new favourite movie.
Met a college friend I thought I’d never be close with, but now we’re super tight.
Went to see the World Cup and won an India jersey in a lottery.
In July:
Partied till 8 in the morning, which got me put on curfew.
Got drunk and made some random friends on the steps of a pub.
Read Dolly Alderton and fell in love with her.
August:
Had tres leches for the first time and loved it.
Went to see Sanam and Zaeden in concert with my bestie and saw Anuv Jain too.
Watched Stree with a friend and laughed the entire time.
Attended a G&B press conference and interviewed the CEO.
Celebrated my bestie’s birthday and got insanely drunk.
September:
Hosted Ganu at home and did the visarjan myself, feeling closer to God than ever.
Went to Lalbaug for Ganpati hopping and stood in lines for over 2 hours.
Went to Girgaon and saw all the Ganpati visarjans, even got a few flowers from them.
October:
Did the pooja of our new house.
Went for Talwiinder.
Wore a saree and realised I can’t handle it.
Ate insane Mediterranean food at Bayroute.
November:
Stayed at our house for the first time during Diwali.
Tried a new mocktail.
Grew closer to my nani.
Made funny reels with my brother.
Baked insane brownies.
Went out with an amazing person who felt like home after my breakup.
Got over my bike fear.
Travelled to Ulhasnagar and spent time with my college friends (it’s too far).
December:
Met my sister and my juju again and yapped a lot.
Ate my comfort nachos at Cream Centre.
Went on a solo trip, swam in the ocean and made some good friends.
In between all this, I lost some friends, gained others, and became closer than ever with my best ones. I ate ridiculously good food, drank plenty, partied hard, and truly lived. 2024 tested me with its lowest lows and highest highs, but I survived.
Future me, here’s to hoping 2025 is better. You’ve got this.
